The life and reign of Queen Anne, the last Stuart monarch and daughter of James II, are examined in detail through the literature, music, art, and architecture that surrounded her, her court, and England at large. The book has a companion website with audio recordings of music by George Frideric Handel, Henry Purcell, and other composers of the Stuart era. Winn is a professor of English at Boston University.
