Mark Roche *84 served as dean of the College of Arts and Letters at the University of Notre Dame for 11 years. In his book, Realizing the Distinctive University, he uses this experience to change the way we talk about education. Roche argues that American universities need a distinctive vision to implement, rather than a brand to cultivate, and lays out a road map for developing a strong college of the arts and sciences.
