In her second book in the Queens of Renthia series, The Reluctant Queen (Harper Voyager) tells the story of Daleina, a dying queen who will soon be unable to keep malevolent spirits from destroying her land and people. Hope comes in the form of Naelin, a mother who has the ability to control spirits but who fears her power will lead to separation from the husband and children she loves.
