(Research Institute for Mathematics) This book looks into the opposition of Morris Kline, a 20th century professor of mathematics and philosopher, to the Bourbaki Thesis in favor of the Classic Thesis, which offer differing views on the laws that govern mathematics. Pogorzelski has been a professor of mathematics at the University of Maine for over 35 years. He is the director of the Research Institute for Mathematics, the only institution in Maine that grants doctoral degrees in mathematics.
