Roller Derby Rivals is a children’s nonfiction picture book about the legendary roller derby rivalry between Midge “Toughie” Brashun and Gerry Murray. Their 1948 contest was, for the first time, being watched by thousands of television viewers at the dawn of televised sports. Macy’s books have been named ALA Notable Children’s Books and Best Books for Young Adults, among other honors.
