The Science of Giving: Experimental Approaches to the Study of Charity

(Psychology Press) Why do people give money to charity? How do they determine how much to donate? These are some of the questions addressed in experimental studies documented in this book. The answers shed light on how charitable decisions are made, allowing nonprofits to conduct more strategic campaigns and researchers to understand the factors behind charitable giving. Oppenheimer is an associate professor of psychology at Princeton. Olivola is a Royal Society Newton Fellow at the University College London.
