The Selected Letters of Thornton Wilder

(HarperCollins) The American playwright and novelist Thornton Wilder remains the only writer to win a Pulitzer Prize for both drama and fiction. With over 300 letters, this compilation of Wilder’s correspondence includes letters to literary figures such as Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald ’17, and Edward Albee as well as letters to high-profile acquaintances such as heavyweight boxing champion Gene Tunney. Robin G. Wilder is Thornton Wilder’s niece and an independent scholar who specializes in archival research in various media for television documentaries, theater productions, and books. Bryer is professor of English emeritus at the University of Maryland.
