Shadows Over Sundials: Dark and Light: Life in a Large Outside World

(iUniverse) This memoir chronicles Baldwin’s many adventures living in eight different countries and working in dozens more. Lost in the Inca ruins of Peru at age six and tattooed by head hunters in Borneo at age 12, Baldwin has also experienced a mid-hurricane Atlantic ship rescue, flirted with pro-Castro revolutionaries in Havana, worked with cyclone rescue programs in the Bay of Bengal, and helped to organize an underground railway for Bengali leaders escaping from Pakistani genocide. Baldwin is a past Ford Foundation/Population Council/United Nations population and development specialist, a third-grade South Bronx teacher, and the co-founder of a South Bronx Charter School. He currently chairs the school’s board, provides legal representation to UN staff members, and sings in a chorus.
