Soccer’s Lost Boys

(Current TV) This documentary, co-produced and co-written by Plunkett for Current TV, chronicles the dirty business of predatory agents recruiting young players in West Africa. The demand for young West African players in professional European soccer leagues has skyrocketed, and so too has the number of unlicensed agents, illegitimate soccer academies, and shady middlemen. The documentary explores the dark side of the popular sport. Soccer’s Lost Boys premiered June 16. Plunkett, who was captain of Princeton’s 1996 soccer team, is a producer at Current TV.
