Jasmin Darznik *07’s debut novel features Forugh Farrokhzad, an Iranian poet who defied Iranian society. In Song of a Captive Bird (Random House), Forugh, forced into a suffocating marriage, runs away to have an affair in order to achieve freedom and independence.
