Sophrosyne: A Novel
Twenty-one-year-old Alex is consumed by a quest for Sophrosyne, an ancient Greek virtue defined as self-restraint or modesty. Sophrosyne: A Novel examines Alex’s attempt to escape the disturbing relationship he has developed with his mother through the study and cultivation of this virtue. Marianne Apostolides ’94 is the author of five books and two plays.
