(MSB Press) This book outlines a home-based behavioral intervention program designed for children with autism. It presents the neurological and psychological foundations of autism, the scientific rational behind the program, Deland’s account of her family’s successful experience, and a guide to working with your own child towards more meaningful social interaction, diminished temper tantrums, and greater capacity for self-control and sustained attention. Blank and Goh are the doctors at Columbia University who designed the program. Deland is the mother of 13-year old Diane, who was diagnosed with autism at the age of three.
