In As Terrorism Evolves (Cambridge University Press), Seib addresses how terrorism has increased in severity during the period between the rise of al-Qaeda and the birth of the Islamic State.  From Boko Haram to al-Qaeda to the Islamic State, the extent of terrorist organizational operation continues to grow. Seib argues that 21-century terrorism is enabled by new media and depends on social networks to expand, focusing on the relationships between media, religion, and violence.
