Test Tube Families: Why the Fertility Market Needs Legal Regulation

(New York University Press)  As a new generation of “donors kids” comes of age, this book calls for better regulation of assisted reproductive technologies.  It exhorts legal and policymaking communities to create laws that sustain the fertility industry yet protect the interests of donors, recipients, and the children that result from successful transfers.  Incorporating real-life stories to illustrate her arguments, the author provides suggestions for legal reform.  Cahn is the John Theodore Fey Research Professor of Law at the George Washington University Law School.
