Youth is treasured in American culture. Many ads, products, messaging, and more revolve around the idea of looking and staying young, although aging, unfortunate circumstances aside, is inevitable. Weinstein, a retired professor of English, strives to set the record straight in this new book. He encourages readers to embrace aging, pointing out many of the freedoms and unexpected joys he’s experienced on his personal journey. In five brief chapters, Time’s Bounty (Godine) offers a fresh perspective on an often-overlooked stage of life.
