In Tools and Weapons: The Promise and Peril of the Digital Age (Penguin Press) Brad Smith’81 and Carol Ann Browne examine the responsibility of the government and tech companies to regulate and address the problems with technology. Issues such as cybercrime and privacy breaches can seem formidable, but Smith argues they are complications that tech companies should take an active role in redressing because they “bear responsibility for the world [they] helped create.”
