Trophy: A Novel

(TriQuarterly Books/Northwestern University Press) Vada Prickett, a 29-year-old car-wash worker in South Carolina, contemplates his last moments in this novel, which opens as he is being crushed to death by a stuffed grizzly bear that belongs to his next-door neighbor and longtime rival. Griffith is an associate professor of English at the University of Cincinnati and the fiction editor at The Cincinnati Review.
