Gregory F. Treverton ’69 has co-written the first-ever account of the history of the National Intelligence Council (NIC), as told by its eight chairs from the end of the Cold War to 2017. Truth to Power: A History of the U.S. National Intelligence Council (Oxford University Press) covers the council’s recommendations to senior American foreign policymakers and strategic analysis of major foreign policy issues during the council’s nearly 40-year existence.
