Ulysses in Focus: Genetic, Textual, and Personal Views

(University Press of Florida) A leading Joyce scholar, Groden has been at the forefront of some of the most important developments in James Joyce studies over the past three decades. In this book, Groden again tackles Joyce, this time his major work, Ulysses. In 12 essays in three areas of Joyce criticism and scholarship, this book offers personal adventures accumulated from a life with Joyce. Groden connects scholarly developments to Joyce’s personal life and provides genetic readings of several episodes of Ulysses that advance understanding of the novel’s composition. Groden is Distinguished University Professor of English at the University of Western Ontario.
