(Yale University Press) In the face of accelerating extinctions across the globe, McCord draws upon philosophy, ethics, law, and biology to argue for the value of species that do not have practical worth to humans. He also addresses the challenges of creating any public instrument to protect biodiversity. McCord is director of programming and special projects, University Honors College, University of Pittsburgh. He also is director of the university’s Yellowstone Field Course.
