It follows the lives of a restless young woman at an end-of-summer barbecue in Utah, an American soldier in Baghdad, and Qasim al-Zabadi, and Iraqi math professor who faces the U.S. invasion of his country with fear and denial. Scranton served in Iraq during a 14-month deployment.
