Fictional Princeton students live in The Egg, an off-campus dome whose inhabitants prepare for what scientists believe is the end of the world. Funded by an eccentric figure and plied with performance-enhancing and psychedelic drugs, a student revolution takes shape and eventually spreads across colleges in America. The final confrontation comes down along the lines of good versus evil, salvation versus damnation.
