(Cornell University Press) In this work, Brown examines the role that Islamist political movements are playing in the electoral process in Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, and Palestine. He argues that while elections have become freer in these countries, they also have become less fair as a result of Islamist movements. Brown is a professor of political science and international affairs at George Washington University.
