Whisper Not: The Autobiography of Benny Golson

Benny Golson and Jim Merod ’75 tackle Golson’s jazz career in Whisper Not (Temple University Press). Golson who was born during jazz's first heyday, honed his saxophone skills alongside John Coltrane while still in high school in Philadelphia. Golson, who is also an accomplished composer, has performed with dozens of the greats including Dizzy Gillespie, Sonny Rollins and Coleman Hawkins.
