William Blake on His Poetry and Painting: A Study of A Descriptive Catalogue, Other Prose Writings and Jerusalem
(McFarland) This book discusses the writings of Blake, who was not only a poet but also a commentator on his own art and art in general. Topics include Black’s comments on his predecessors, contemporaries, critics, and artistic intentions. This study also contains reproductions of drawings and paintings from Blake’s 1809 exhibition. Adams is professor emeritus in the department of comparative literature at the University of Washington.
