Wired for War: The Robotics Revolution and Conflict in the 21st Century
(Penguin Press) Modern warfare is starting to resemble science fiction, as robots are becoming a bigger presence in the military. Remote-controlled drones take out terrorists in Afghanistan and planes can be flown from an office 10,000 miles away, for example. Singer discusses the technological revolution happening on the battlefield and the future and consequences of these new machines for war. Singer is a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution and served as a coordinator of the defense policy task force for the Obama campaign.
