Bell sets out to offer readers a behind-the-scenes deep dive into the making of the Academy Award-winning 1970 documentary Woodstock. The book Woodstock (Rare Bird Lit) opens with a foreword from director Martin Scorsese and includes dozens of stories, anecdotes, and perspectives from musicals and filmmakers who were part of the project. Dale, a filmmaker himself who attended the legendary three-day festival that drew more than 400,000 people to Bethel, New York, hopes this book will represent more than just the music, to highlight who this moment in history informed the 1960s and the generation.
