#16: Nicholas Katzenbach ’43

Deputy attorney general under John Kennedy and attorney general under Lyndon Johnson, Katzenbach was active in several groundbreaking Justice Department civil rights initiatives, including the desegregation of the University of Mississippi in 1962, the desegregation of the University of Alabama in 1963, and the passage of the 1964 Civil Rights Act.
