About 3,500 members of the University community attended the Vietnam Assembly in Jadwin Gym Nov. 13, 1969. According to archivists, the event was conceived as a forum for students, alumni, faculty, and staff to express their views on America’s involvement in Vietnam. Five resolutions regarding the war were introduced, and students held signs showing numbers of votes. An overwhelming majority voted in favor of withdrawing U.S. forces from Vietnam. A story on the event appeared in the Nov. 25, 1969, PAW.
