On Broadway

Rob Levine

Actor Stephen Bogardus ’76, right, has taken the role of Bob Wallace, played by Bing Crosby in the 1954 movie “White Christmas,” for the musical’s Broadway debut. Running through Jan. 4 at the Marquis Theatre, the Irving Berlin musical — complete with classic songs including “White Christmas,” “Blue Skies,” and “How Deep Is the Ocean,” period costumes, and a full orchestra — tells the story of Broadway partners who put on a show in a Vermont inn and find love. Bogardus, who has performed in other Broadway productions (including “West Side Story” and “Man of La Mancha”), was nominated for a Tony Award for best supporting actor for his 1995 role in “Love! Valour! Compassion!”
