Major league pitcher CHRIS YOUNG ’02 accomplished a rare feat in his New York Mets debut April 5: He had two hits in the same inning.

“Young became the first Mets pitcher to record two hits in an inning,” The New York Times reported, “and in his next at-bat tied the club record for most hits in a game by a pitcher, with three.”

Young’s pitching also made a splash: He led the Mets to a 7–1 victory against the National League East Division rival Philadelphia Phillies. (To read an article about Young, go to http://bit.ly/ h2ekNC.)
