With the death of Marshall Forrest ’40 Jan. 12, 2022, the Great Class of 1940 comes to a close. Pictured are class members in their beer jackets and overalls. This photo is from the 1940 Nassau Herald.
I just had this photo of my Dad’s graduating class framed after I was given a pile of old photographs. My father, Zim Lawhon ’40 *51, loved his alma mater. He was a fine example of the Class of 1940. I hope he and his classmates are enjoying a celestial reunion complete with beer jackets, orange and black attire, and a jazz band playing some wonderful tunes.
With Thanksgiving approaching, PAW asked Richardson to shed light on the historical relationship between America’s native people and European colonists by recommending three books on Indigenous literature and history
