As part of Alumni Day in February, Princetonians and others gathered to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Third World Center (now the Carl A. Fields Center). Proposed by students, it took a sit-in to get the administration on board before the center opened in 1971 as a space for students of color on campus. Pictured here from left are Benny Mah ’82, Victoria Yu h’20, and Franne McNeal ’82 at the event. For many Princetonians of color, the center has been a place where they could be themselves and feel comfortable. Mah adds it was “one of the few places where I felt it was home.”
