Wednesday’s “Stand-Up and Vote” comedy show at Richardson Auditorium promised an all-star lineup, including host Mike Birbiglia, author John Hodgman, rapper Jean Grae, and Daily Show regulars Roy Wood Jr., Ronny Chieng, and Hasan Minhaj. When Minhaj had to cancel, organizers added special guest: Lawrenceville, N.J., native Jon Stewart.

“We were a little bit stuck because nobody is really available on short notice,” Birbiglia told the capacity crowd. “So we thought, ‘Why don’t we go the other way with it, and give a shot to somebody from New Jersey?’”

The free show, hosted by the Office of the Dean of Undergraduate Students, featured voter-registration tables in the lobby. Net proceeds were set to benefit three nonprofit, nonpartisan voting organizations: HeadCount, Rock The Vote, and Vote.org.

Comedian Mike Birbiglia organized the comedy and voter-registration tour, which has booked dates at several colleges in the northeast.
