Charles died May 11, 1995 in Miami Beach, Fla.  

Charles was born in Oak Ridge, Tenn., grew up in Paducah, Ky., and came to Princeton from Tilghman High School. He majored in architecture.  

Charles graduated from Washington University School of Law in 1974 and moved to south Florida. He was a member of the Florida Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Association of Interstate Commerce Practitioners.  

Charles served the community as president of the board of directors of Children’s Psychiatric Centers. He was a Dade County Commission appointee to its Children’s Services Council and a board member of a fund-raising committee for the Health Crisis Network, legal counsel to the Liberty City Dance Troupe, and a board member of Lochtown Clinic.  

The class extended belated condolences to his family and friends.
