He came to Princeton from Detroit, where he graduated from the Edwin Denby School, a special school for talented arts and music students. Conrad was a member of the orchestra, and a lead in two school dramas, participated in the book and Spanish clubs, and won a National English Award, and a National Merit Scholarship.

At Princeton, Conrad majored in physics, was a member of Key and Seal, and worked on Theater Intime freshman year and WPRB sophomore year. He played intramural football, basketball, and baseball for Key and Seal.

After graduation Conrad returned to Michigan and earned an MBA from the University of Michigan. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He spent his entire career with IBM as a systems analyst working out of its Southfield offices, a location for Ford Motor Co. and other major Michigan corporate businesses.

He lived in suburban Troy most of his professional career and is survived by brothers Gregory and Mark; nephew Nikolas; and niece Jennifer Theisen. Conrad’s ’67 classmates and Detroit area colleagues lost an honorable and generous friend.
