David A. Dryden ’61

Dave Dryden died of cancer Nov. 6, 2010. He had lived in South Plainfield, N.J., since the late 1960s.

Born in New Jersey, he came to Princeton from St. Mark’s School. At Princeton he majored in economics, was active in intramural sports, and took his meals at Tower Club.  

Following graduation, Dave served with the Army’s military police in Germany, and then worked for Sun Oil Co., Emil-Hamilton Inc., and finally General Public Utilities at the Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station, all in New Jersey.

Dave was preceded in death by his wife, Sieglinde, and his sister, Margo. He is survived by his sister, Linda Atwood Dryden, and her children; his stepson, Norman Braun, and his family; and two grandchildren. A second stepson, Oliver Braun, died just two months after Dave did.
