Farn died Oct. 9, 2017, in Hamden, Conn., just two months after his 90th birthday.

He graduated from The Hill School and came to Princeton after a year spent in the Navy. His father was in the Class of 1924. Farn majored in architecture and was a member of Court Club. While on campus, he was a member of the St. Paul Society and worked in Marquand Library. After graduation he worked as an architectural draftsman for several New York City firms, including Fordyce & Hamby. While a New York resident, he was an active member of the Society of Architectural Historians and the National Trust for Historic Preservation, organizations that support and maintain significant architectural sites from all periods.

Farn then moved to New Haven, Conn., to join the firm of Caproni Associates as an architect; he continued his practice with the firm for many years, finally retiring and continuing in individual practice. His family and friends remember him with great affection and love.

He is survived by his wife, Doris; and his son, David Farny Eilers. At his request, no services were to be held, and any donations were to be made to the ASPCA.
