A devotee of classical Greek and Roman language and history, Harry died Jan. 6, 2021.

He came to Princeton from Highland Park High School in Dallas. He majored in classics, was a technical director in Theatre Intime, and was a Naval ROTC contract student. He took his meals at Prospect Club and roomed senior year with Tom van der Voort.

Following military service, Harry became a teacher at various secondary schools, including Taft in Connecticut and Casady in Oklahoma City. He and Linda Ann Harsch were married in Dallas in 1961, and she also pursued a teaching career. In 1969, Harry and his family moved to Wisconsin, where he obtained a master’s of divinity at Nashotah House Theological Seminary.

Harry served as an Episcopal priest for many years. He and Linda were seperated, and he converted to Catholicism in the late 1970s. In 1981, he became a professor of Greek, Latin, and classical literature at St. Thomas More College, where Linda rejoined him and taught there.

Linda died in 2007. Harry retired and moved back to Dallas in 2019. He especially enjoyed taking care of his cats, listening to jazz and country music, and participating in family events. He is survived by his son Jonathan and grandson Ethan.
