James Brison Woods ’44

Brison died April 10, 2020. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, in November 1923. 

He came to Princeton from Cincinnati Country Day School, where he participated in football, student government, and student publications. At Princeton he majored in English, and was on the JV football team, winning a “P.” He was on the business board of The Daily Princetonian, and was a member of Cannon Club. He left Princeton in 1942 as a second lieutenant in the tank destroyers of the Army. 

Brison worked in the investment world and ultimately owned his own business in investment counseling. He and his wife, Betsey, traveled as much as possible after retirement. 

Brison is survived by his wife, son Sun-Hun-Hwan Chu, four grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
