We lost a dedicated physician when John died May 28, 2004.

John came to Princeton from the Gunnery (Conn.) School and his hometown of Richmond, Va. At Princeton he participated in the Princeton Cooperative Schools Program, the Association of Black Collegians, and the Princeton Youth Center. He majored in biology and lived with his wife, Lenora, off-campus senior year.

John graduated from Duke Medical School in 1975 with seven others from our class. His residency was at Dorothea Dix Hospital in Raleigh, N.C. He later joined the U.S. Army Medical Corps and was stationed in Germany.

He and Lenora had two children, Tonya (born in 1971) and Keisha (1976). After that relationship ended, he later married Mary Elizabeth and had relocated to Richmond by 1991. He retired from the Army and still lived in Richmond in 2001, the last reported address before he died.

The class extends belated condolences to his family.
