Joseph R. Nini ’47

Body

Apart from two years of World War II service in the Army Air Corps, Joe lived all his life in Princeton and served his community well.

He graduated in 1949. In 1951 he courted and married Doris Windas, a Princeton girl, and he won election as clerk of Princeton Township.

As the township grew, Joe was chosen to be administrator of its expanding government. He served in this capacity until 1983 and retired as a widely respected and tireless public servant.

Joe was proud of his Italian ancestry. He initiated and administered several Italian associations, notably the Princeton Pettoranello Foundation, and he served many other civic causes as well.

He died peacefully Aug. 20, 2009, surrounded by Doris, their two children and spouses, and two grandchildren. With admiration for Joe’s life of public service, we send our sympathy to his family.
