William Alfred Parker ’53

Bill died Nov. 30, 2016, in San Antonio, Texas. He was born in Tulsa, Okla., but the family moved to San Antonio and Bill grew up there.

At Princeton he majored in geology, but left college after his junior year. After leaving college, he served in the Army and then returned to San Antonio to be involved in the family oil business, Parker Oil & Gas, and Lewis Oil Co. Deeply involved in the life of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Bill was also active in the San Antonio German Club, the Order of the Alamo, the Everglades Club in Palm Beach, Fla., and other organizations. He is survived by Camilla, his wife of 56 years, and their children and grandchildren.
