Bill served in the Army in World War II and landed at Omaha Beach during the D-Day invasion. After working in New York City in the radio business, he met his wife, Lorraine, in San Francisco, and they later settled in Illinois, where he ran a successful business selling home-repair products before retiring to Florida.
