Men’s water polo took third place in the NCAA Championships for the second time in three years, playing in Berkeley, Calif. After falling in a lopsided semifinal game to eventual national champion USC Dec. 3, Princeton rebounded with a 9–7 upset of the University of California, San Diego the next day. UC San Diego took an early lead, but Drew Hoffenberg ’15, below, pulled Princeton back into the game with two goals in the first period. He led the Tigers with four goals and two assists. Eight of Princeton’s nine goals were scored by freshmen.
