Steven Veach

Published Jan. 21, 2016

David Dobkin — who stepped down in June as dean of the faculty after 11 years — was saluted at the academic year’s final faculty meeting when colleagues brought him pennies as a tribute to his other career: inveterate collector of everyday items such as bottle caps, Popsicle sticks, and pennies (he has 700 pounds of the coins). Dobkin, a computer science professor, will return to teaching.
