Is the Proposed Endowment Tax Another Cash Grab?

Looking up: After a yearlong renovation, Prospect House reopened in September with a bright new color palette, partly inspired by its stained-glass windows. Updates to the 175-year-old building also improved accessibility and energy efficiency, according to a University release. 

Going the distance: Princeton men’s and women’s cross country swept the team titles at the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships, held Nov. 2 on a new course in the Meadows Neighborhood.

A burst of autumn: The changing leaves alongside 1879 and Laura Wooten halls greeted students during midterms week in October.  

Tack to school: A new exhibit at Mudd Manuscript Library celebrates photographer Elizabeth Menzies, whose work appeared in PAW from the 1930s to the 1970s. Her image of students sailing, circa 1958, is one of several that feature Lake Carnegie.

Big changes on Ivy Lane: The University’s ongoing construction projects include a new home for Environmental Studies and the School of Engineering and Applied Science, seen here from the top of Fine Hall. The complex, which includes 666,000 square feet of space for labs, classrooms, offices, and other facilities, is expected to be completed in the fall of 2025.

Grinning grad: Elizabeth Medina ’24, standing at right, was among more than 1,900 graduates (bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees) at the University’s 277th Commencement on May 28.

Signs of the times: From late April until mid-May, a pro-Palestinian encampment took root on Cannon Green, with protesters hanging banners and setting up tarps, chairs, and sleeping bags.

Making a splash: Seniors from the School of Public and International Affairs frolic in the Fountain of Freedom after turning in their theses on April 8, while Dean Amaney Jamal and her colleagues take in the festivities, staying safely dry on the stairs.

Tune every heart: Singer-songwriter Molly Trueman ’24 plays one of her original songs for returning Princetonians at the Alumni Day luncheon in Jadwin Gym Feb. 24. Trueman also spoke about her experiences as an undergraduate in the music department.

Lunch rush: Students choose from a selection of entrees at the Yeh College-New College West dining hall in early February. The shared servery, located in Grousbeck Hall, opened in 2022.
